Biography

Kamrun Nahar Mousomi belongs to the southeastern part of Bangladesh. Her ancestral home town is Comilla, but she was born and raised up in Khagrachhari hill tracts. In family, she has her loving parents and two caring brothers. Her father is a High School's Teacher, and mother is a Retd. Govt. employee (FWV). She passed her secondary school certificate (SSC) examination from Ramgarh Girls' High School, Khagrachhari, and higher secondary school certificate (HSC) from Cantonment College, Comilla. Then she has completed Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Sylhet Agricultural University, Bangladesh, obtaining the highest result (CGPA 3.975/4.00) among all the regular students of the university during her session 2009-2010. For this reason she has been awarded the prestigious Chancellor Gold Medal, Prime Minister Gold Medal, and University Award for Excellence. Then she did Master of Science in Agricultural Chemistry from the same university at 2016 with the highest academic result (CGPA 4.00/4.00). She received National Science and Technology fellowship under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Bangladesh to do her MS thesis project. She has conducted and involved some projects and published research articles on her field. She has also attended some international conferences to present her research findings. Her research interests are environmental remediation, soil chemistry, contaminant chemistry, soil and plant nutrient management. From December 2018, she has been serving as an academic member at the Department of Agricultural Chemistry, Sylhet Agricultural University, Bangladesh. Currently she is in study leave, and doing her PhD at the University of Newcastle, Australia.
