Biography

Md Bashir Uddin is highly accomplished individual with a strong background in Infectious disease immunology and veterinary medicine. Very recently, he successfully completed postdoctoral training at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), USA. He is specialized in advanced training in bio-containment (BSL3) models of SARS-CoV-2 in mouse (ABSL3) and respiratory pathogens. He earned a Ph.D. from Chungnam National University in South Korea in 2017. His doctoral research focused on the immunological potential of novel candidate probiotic strains against viruses; explored the potential roles of Foot-and-Mouth disease virus; development of safe, effective, and inexpensive antiviral drugs that could enhance vaccine/mucosal immunization and antimicrobial drug development efforts. He was graduated with a DVM degree from Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST), Bangladesh. He was awarded the 2007 Vice-Chancellor Gold Medal in recognition of highest achievement in his DVM level examination. Dr Bashir authored or co-authored 2 book chapters and over 40 peer-reviewed research publications in high-impact journals. Additionally, he serves as an Editor for the PLOS ONE journal and is a reviewer for various reputed journals, including Nature.com journals. Has presented his research at both national and international conferences, indicating his active involvement in the scientific community. His research interests encompass infectious disease immunology, host-pathogen mechanism study, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and zoonotic diseases. Md Bashir Uddin's diverse research background and extensive publication record demonstrate his expertise in his research field. His contributions to research, teaching, and academic journal editing highlight his commitment to advancing knowledge in these areas.
