Biography

Professor Md. Mahfujur Rahman is a renowned academician and researcher at Sylhet Agricultural University in Bangladesh. He received his DVM degree from Sylhet Agricultural University followed by a Master of Science (MS) from the same university. He received his Ph.D. in Veterinary Medicine from Chonbuk National University, Korea. Professor Rahman's research interests are in the areas of animal health and welfare, with a focus on infectious diseases of livestock and poultry. He has published numerous research articles in international journals and presented his work at various national and international conferences. To date, Professor Mahfuj supervised research projects of 21 Master’s Students and currently, 01 Doctoral Students and 05 Master’s Students are doing their research under his supervision. Research Publication: He has published 55 research articles mostly in peer-reviewed SCOPUS-Indexed journals of which 15 articles are in SCI Indexed journals like One Health (IF: 5.0), Antibiotics (IF: 4.8), Scientific Reports (IF: 4.120), Transboundary and Emerging Diseases (IF: 4.188), Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology (IF: 4.0), Animals (IF: 3.0), Archives of Virology (IF: 2.7), Development, Genes and Evolution (IF: 2.4), Research in Veterinary Science (IF: 2.4), Pakistan Veterinary Journal (IF: 2.3), International Journal of Developmental Neuroscience (IF: 1.8), Veterinary and Animal Science (IF: 1.5), Gene Expression Patterns (1.2) etc. In addition to his research, Professor Rahman is also an experienced teacher and has been actively involved in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students at Sylhet Agricultural University. He is known for his dedication and commitment to his students, and his ability to inspire and motivate them to pursue careers in veterinary medicine and animal science. As a respected academician and researcher, Professor Rahman has also been involved in various professional and community service activities. He has served as a reviewer for several international journals and has been a member of various professional organizations, including the Bangladesh Veterinary Association. Overall, Professor Rahman's contributions to the field of veterinary medicine and animal science have been significant and have had a positive impact on the academic and research communities in Bangladesh and beyond.
