D. WORKING EXPERIENCES: -More than twenty four years experiences, out of which more than Nineteen years as Researcher in Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute Gazipur (BARI) most of the period in Agronomy division, On Farm Research Division (OFRD) as a Scientific and Senior Scientific Officer and International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) as a Cropping System Specialist also Manager in Safeway Pest Control Farm (Private Firm) now in teaching as Associate Professor in Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU) Sylhet more than four years science September 2011. Brief description of working at different capacity, duration and nature of job are stated below from recent post:

Job Description: Guidance of Agricultural Development Officer’s, supervising stuffs;   management & implementation of research work in farmer’s field, co-ordination of different non-government organization (NGO’s) involved

III. Senior Scientific Officer (SSO) & Station in-charge of OFRD, BARI Comilla

Duration: - About 6 year (2006-2011).

Job Description: Guidance of Scientific Officer’s, Scientific assistant, supervising stuffs, management & implementation of research work, administration and financial management for the following development projects through which a new Agricultural Research Station (ARS) was established in Comilla.

  • Spices Research Station: Supervise Construction and development work, conduct & monitoring research activities
  • Establishment of Regional Horticultural Research Station: Supervise Construction and development work, conduct & monitoring research activities
  • Oil seed research strengthening project:-Conduct and experiment oil seeds through which short duration of mustard varieties were well adapted in between T-Aman and Boro fellow period in Comilla areas.
  • Strengthening of Tuber Crops Research Project:- Distribution of foundation seeds and trained farmers to produce their own seeds at farm level, ultimately a booklet (Potato Seed Production through Improved Technique) was published.
  • Integrated Crop Management (ICM) project- Working completely in the farmers field with various mature technologies of BARI

      Organized Regional Extension and Research Program Planning Workshop: Research program developed and evaluated at regional level, participation with NARS Scientist, DAE personnel of greater Comilla and Sylhet region. NGO worker and progressive farmers for each year.

 

       Working as an Co-Investigator of the ACIAR Rice -Maize project:- Conduct and execute research of Conservation Agriculture practices, Nutrient Management through SSNM and evaluation of IRRI developed Nutrient manager as well as reporting.

 

IV. Position: Senior Scientific Officer & Station in-charge of Citrus Research Station of BARI, with an additional in charge of OFRD Sylhet

                       

Duration: - About 1 (one) Year (June 2005 - April ’06)

 

Job Description: Design, Development, Implement and Monitoring of Research program on citrus fruits as well as on farm activities of OFRD, Sylhet region.

                            

V. Position: Scientific Officer (September 1992 - May 2005) Agronomy Division BARI, Gazipur

                   

Duration: - More than 12 years (September 1992 - May ‘05)

 

Job Description: Participate actively in Research Program Planning, Executing and Reporting in different cereal and vegetable crops in different cultural management and nutrient management aspects in Agronomy division, side by side completion of M.S degree of Agronomy (1996-98) supported by FAO.

 

In addition other than divisional activities, worked in IPM-CRSP project (1998-2000) for vegetable weed management activities as a principle investigator, through which received a Ph.D. scholarships at UPLB.

VI. Position: Manager Technical Services in Safe Way pest control, Banani, Dhaka.

Duration: - About 1 Year

(c) Training Organize: On an average every year I had to organize 10 training for Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) officers and Farmers on Pulses, Oil seeds, Spices and Horticultural crops during the working period of BARI at Comilla.

 

(d) Role as a trainer: Trained about 500 Sub Assistant Agricultural Officer (SAAO) and farmers every year as trainer organized by DAE during the working period of BARI at Comilla.
