Dr. Md. Ruhul Amin is a Professor in the Department of Agricultural Extension Education, Faculty of Agiculture, Sylhet Agricultural University, Sylhet, Bangladesh. He received his PhD degree from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh in 2011; B. Sc. Ag.(Hons.) and MS in Agricultural Extension Education degrees from the Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in 1997 and 2002 respectively. Professor Amin is the senior most faculty member of the department. He has been serving as the Head of the Department since August 2018 to continue and with a short break from 22 June 2007 to 30 June 2009 and 24 September 2011 to 30 September 2013.

Professor Amin’s areas of research interest are Extension communication, Different communication media used in technology diffusion, Identification of farmers' problems through using participatory methods (PRA, RRA), ICT for rural development. His more than 43 articles have already been published in different national and international journals. He has supervised or co-supervised a total of 17 MS Student.

He is a member of Bangladesh Agricultural Extension Society (BAES) and the Life member of Krishibid (Agriculturist) Institution Bangladesh, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

He is currently the acting Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture.
