Biography

Dr. Md. Abdullah-Al-Mamun currently working as a Professor in Fish Health Management Department, Faculty of Fisheries, Sylhet Agricultural University, Sylhet-3100, Bangladesh. He received his Ph.D. in Fish Vaccination in 2019 from the College of Fisheries, Mangalore, under Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, India. He obtained Netaji Subhas International Fellowship 2015-2016 for completion of Ph.D degree from Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). His research was on validation of biofilm of Aeromonas hydrophila oral vaccine in striped catfish. He had served as Principal Investigator (PI) in different projects funded by Sylhet Agricultural Research System (SAURES) and the Ministry of Science and Technology, Bangladesh (MOST). He has given several talks at international conferences. Prof. Dr. Mamun has an extensive background in fish disease and health management, and has demonstrated his expertise through his leadership role as a team leader in the workshop on 'Hands on training: Fish Parasitology' organized by the Dept. of Fish Health Management and International Parasite Resource Bank, South Korea. He has also authored 52 research articles in international journals including Elsevier, Willey, Springer, Tailor and Francis, national peer-reviewed journals, two book chapters, and one book. Overall, Prof. Dr. Mamun has a keen interest in pursuing research in the area of fish disease and health management, and his impressive track record of publications and leadership in the field make him a valuable asset to the academic community in Bangladesh and beyond.
