Profile

Romaza Khanum was born in 1976, in Gazipur, Bangladesh. She got Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) from Dhaka Board in the science group. She obtained her B. Sc degree in Agricultural Economics from the Bangladesh Agricultural University in 1998 (Exam held in 2000). She received her first master's degree in Agricultural Economics (Production Economics) from the Bangladesh Agricultural University in 2002 and earned a second master's degree in Governance and Development from the Institute of Development and Policy (IOB), University of Antwerp, Belgium in 2012. She did her Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from the Bangladesh Agricultural University in 2018. Dr. Khanum received several fellowships and awards throughout her academic career. She has authored and co-authored 28 peer-reviewed journal articles. Further, she contributes as a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals. Besides, her research interest is in rural development, agricultural development, gender, poverty, food security, and nutrition. In her working life, she has successfully fulfilled various administrative responsibilities. Currently, she is working as a professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Policy, Sylhet Agricultural University, Sylhet.
