Biography

Md. Irtija Ahsan, a man from Kushtia district of Bangladesh, was born in 1990. He spent his childhood at Kushtia where he passed SSC and HSC board examination from Kushtia Zilla School and Kushtia Govt. College, respectively. Thereafter, he achieved DVM degree in 2012 from Sylhet Agricultural University, renowned for agricultural education in Bangladesh. Later on, he earned Master of Science degree in Epidemiology and Public Health from the Dept. of Epidemiology and Public Health, considered as a centre of excellence in epidemiology in Bangladesh, from the same institution. After experiencing the flavour of corporate profession at PRAN-RFL Group as a Veterinary Doctor and Dairy Hub Manager, at present, he is working as an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Epidemiology and Public health, Sylhet Agricultural University. The motivation and commencement of apprenticeship in research, he got from his two senior teachers Professor Dr. Syed Sayeem Uddin Ahmed and Professor Dr. Suman Paul, have encouraged him a lot to step forward in this arena besides academic activities. Since his Master’s programme, he has become team member of several research projects, and he has tremendous research interest on infectious and zoonotic diseases, molecular epidemiology, occupational hazards, food safety and emerging issues under the domain of epidemiology and public health.
