Dr. Md. Shad Uddin Mahfuz is a Professor of Animal Nutrition under the faculty of Veterinary, Animal and Biomedical Sciences, Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU), Sylhet-3100, Bangladesh since August/2021. In 2010, Dr. Mahfuz hold a faculty position as a Lecturer in the department of animal nutrition and livestock management, SAU, Sylhet-3100, Bangladesh. Subsequently, Dr. Mahfuz has been promoted to Assistant Professor and Associate Professor in the department of Animal Nutrition in 2012 and 2018 respectively. Dr. Mahfuz has received his B.Sc degree in veterinary and animal science (doctor of veterinary medicine, DVM) from SAU, Bangladesh in 2007 (held in 2009). Dr. Mahfuz also earned M.Sc degree in animal nutrition from SAU, Bangladesh in 2012. During this period, he has conducted research on improving low quality forages by different techniques on both in-vivo and in-vitro. In 2015, Dr. Mahfuz has awarded Chinese Government Scholarship and achieved PhD degree on animal nutrition and feed science from Jilin Agricultural University, Jilin, China, (in 2018). During this period, he has conducted research on improving production and health status by mushroom base diets in pullets and laying hens. Dr. Mahfuz completed his postdoctoral research (Post Doc./ two-year) on broiler nutrition at state key laboratory of animal nutrition, China Agricultural University, Beijing, China in 2020. Dr. Mahfuz further completed one-year post doc. from Laboratory of Animal Nutrition and Feed Science, Sunchon National University, Suncheon, South Korea in 2022. In the past twelve years, Dr. Mahfuz has authored or coauthored about more than 60 research/review articles on animal nutrition and production in peer-reviewed recognized international SCI/SCIE indexed journals. Dr. Mahfuz also playing as reviewer role in more than 10 international high-end peer reviewed journals including Poultry science (Elsevier); Animal Nutrition (Elsevier); Frontiers in Veterinary Science; Animal Science Journal(Wiley Online Library); Italian Journal of Animal Science, Journal of Applied Animal Research (Taylor & Francis, U.K); Food and Function Journal (RSC) etc.
