I am currently working as a professor at the Department of Pathology, Sylhet Agricultural University, Bangladesh. I specialize in molecular vaccines and immunity and my research interest includes surveillance of diseases of farm animals and their control, anti-microbial resistance in farm animals, zoonoses and public health. I am an ambitious researcher who can work hard to achieve target objectives by maintaining time with excellence. Education and Research Skills: I obtained a Master of Science in Pathology from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh and a PhD in Veterinary Medicine from Chonbuk National University, South Korea. I have a Bachelor in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh. I have a post-graduate training on poultry diseases from Kitasato University, Japan under JICA. I have completed my post-doctoral study from Chonbuk National University, South Korea and from Veterinary Research Institute, Czech Republic and my post-doctoral researches mainly focused on poultry diseases and their vaccine studies. I have worked both in the field of data collection and laboratory and frequently used modern software (STAT, R, SPSS, etc.) for the analysis of data. I am well accustomed to statistical analysis and have some programming knowledge. Teaching and Research Experience: I have more than 20 years of teaching and research experience. I started my research career in 2001 at Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute as a Scientific Officer where I worked on poultry diseases till 2003 with experts from Japan under the JICA funded project. I joined as an Assistant Professor at the then Sylhet Government Veterinary College in 2004 which in turn had been running as the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences under Sylhet Agricultural University since 2006. I am continuing my teaching and research at Sylhet Agricultural University as a professor till date. I have successfully completed several research projects funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh, National Science and Technology (NST), Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC), Sylhet Agricultural University Research System (SAURES), etc I also have research experience in several global research projects. To date, I have supervised research projects of 20 Master’s Students and currently, 03 Doctoral Students and 04 Master’s Students are doing their research under my supervision. Research Publication: I have published 62 research articles mostly in peer-reviewed SCOPUS-Indexed journals of which 22 articles are in SCI Indexed journals like Journal of Immunology (IF: 5.745), Future Microbiology (IF: 4.275), Vaccine (IF: 3.572), PLOS ONE (IF: 3.534), Comparative Immunology, Microbiology & Infectious Diseases (IF: 3.605), Veterinary Microbiology (IF: 3.256), Veterinary Research (IF: 2.815), Experimental & Molecular Medicine (IF: 2.453), BMC Veterinary Research (IF: 1.861), Pathogens (IF: 3.405), Phytotherapy Research (IF: 4.087), Scientific Reports (IF: 4.120), Transboundary and Emerging Diseases (IF: 4.188), etc. I also published 01 Book and 05 Training Manuals (03 on poultry diseases). I am having professional membership in many national and international societies and I have attended many national and international Seminars/Conferences at home and abroad and published more than 35 Conference Proceedings. Research Awards/Recognition: In recognition of my research accomplishments, I received the Venus International Research Award-VIRA 2016 as an Outstanding Scientist in Veterinary Medicine offered by the Venus International Foundation, India; the UGC Award 2015 offered by the University Grants Commission, Bangladesh and the Best Publication Award 2016 from Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU).
