Biography

Ms. Tanwi Dey completed her B.Sc. Fisheries (Hons.) and MS in Aquaculture (Major: Fish Nutrition) degrees from Sylhet Agricultural University. Later, she earned her second Masters degree in Crustacean Nutrition from the Laboratory of Artemia Reference Center, Ghent University, Belgium. Currently, she is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aquaculture. Mrs. Dey has attended several field training programs on fish and shellfish farming (e.g., Sea bass, Trout, Shrimp, Mussel, and Oyster, etc.) and health management at different farms and hatcheries in Portugal and Spain. Her research area is concentrated in the field of aquaculture nutrition, with special emphasis on immunonutrition, the use of novel feed ingredients, the effect of processing on the nutritional and physical quality of feed, dietary supplements, and the development of low-cost eco-friendly feeds for aquaculture species. She has completed and been involved in different projects funded by SAURes. She has published articles in national and international journals. Her teaching disciplines at the bachelor and master levels include fish nutrition, fish feed technology, environmental impact assessment, and aqua farm design and management.
