Profile

I am an entomologist, working as an assistant professor in the department of entomology at Sylhet Agricultural University since 2016. I completed my graduation in agriculture from Sylhet Agricultural University in 2013 and my first master's in entomology in 2015 from the same university. Besides, I was awarded an Erasmus Mundus Masters scholarship in 2019 and completed my second master's in MEDfOR (Mediterranean forestry and natural resources management) from the University of Padova, the University of Palencia, and the University of Lleida. My research interests are integrated pest management, conservation biological control, and pollination ecology. However, I have been working with the Litchi stink bug, spiraling white fly, prevalence of mealy bug, abundance and diversity of insect pests, natural enemies of rice, and pesticide retailers. I am doing collaborative research with my colleagues and would like to do so with my peer scientists around the world. Currently I am in study leave and a PhD fellow of the University of Tasmania, Australia. My research focus on Conservation biological control (CBC) of Australian Rubus with the collaboration of NSW DPI (Department of Primary Industries), Wollongbar, NSW. However, I was born and grew up in Moulvibazar, my home town. I am the elder son of Late Abdul Motin and Baby Begum, and I have three lovely young siblings. I am happily married to a beautiful lady, Ms. Nusrat Jahan Mili. I received my secondary education (SSC) from Dakshinbhag N.C.M. High School, Barlekha, Moulvibazar, in 2006, and my higher secondary education (HSC) from Jalalabad Cantonment Public School and College, Sylhet, in 2008.
