Ms. Dilruba Afrin was born in Bogra district of Bangladesh. She is the first among the two daughters of late Delwar Hossain and Shefali Begum. She passed both SSC and HSC from Bogra Cantonment Public School and College. Later, she obtained her bachelor's and master's degrees from the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, University of Rajshahi . She joined Animal and Fish Biotechnology Department of Sylhet Agricultural University in 2016. She developed a keen interest in the field of microbiology and biotechnology. Ms. Dilruba has already conducted research projects funded by various research organizations such as SAURES, UGC, MOST etc. She also holds membership in several scientific and social organizations and has also participated in various national and international seminars/conferences. Her ongoing research focuses primarily on screening and molecular characterization of multidrug resistant ESBLs and carbapenemase producing bacteria. Currently, Ms. Dilruba is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Animal and Fish Biotechnology, Sylhet Agricultural University.
