Biography

Md. Ashraf Hussain currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Fisheries Technology and Quality Control at Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU), Bangladesh, where he began his teaching career in December 2018. Prior to that, he worked as an Extension Officer for the National Agricultural Technology Program Phase II (NATP-2) project, funded by the World Bank and the Government of Bangladesh. Mr. Hussain holds a Bachelor of Science in Fisheries degree from SAU and an MS degree in Fisheries Technology and Quality Control, which he received in 2016 with a thesis focused on the microbiological quality of dried fish. His research interests include packaging technology, natural preservatives, food safety, waste management of seafood, and bioactive peptides. He has published several peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and he is currently involved in several research projects. With his extensive knowledge and experience in the field, Mr. Hussain is well-equipped to address the complex challenges facing the fisheries industry. His research and teaching focus on advancing sustainable and responsible practices in the processing and handling of seafood.
