Biography

Tofael Ahmed Sumon was born in 1990 in Moulvibazar district of Bangladesh. He obtained his B.Sc. Fisheries (Hons.) degree in 2014 with distinction from Sylhet Agricultural University. He received his Master of Science in Fish Health Management from the same university in 2016 and received Chancellor's Award for Excellence. Mr. Sumon obtained International Master of Science in Health Management in Aquaculture in 2023, an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master degree hosted by Ghent University, Belgium. He is now at University of Udine, Italy for his doctoral study (2024-26) in the Department of Agricultural, Food, Environmental and Animal Sciences focusing on Veterinary Pathology. As an early career researcher, Mr. Sumon has authored and co-authored several articles published in renowned international journals mostly in Elsevier. Mr. Sumon also received research grants from Sylhet Agricultural University Research System and Ministry of Science and Technology, Bangladesh. His research interests are health management in aquaculture, especially the pathological and immunological aspects of fish and shellfish.
