Ms. Khadija Akter is an assistant professor in the Department of Agricultural Statistics under the Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Business Studies at Sylhet Agricultural University, Sylhet-3100. She obtained her bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics from Sylhet Agricultural University in 2016 and hold “First” merit position. She has been awarded with “Prime Minister Gold Medal 2016” and "University Award of Excellence" in recognition for securing highest CGPA in Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics (Honors) examination. In 2018, she completed her MS in Agricultural Statistics from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh. In her postgraduate (MS) study, she was awarded with “National Science and Technology Fellowship 2017-18” under the Ministry of Science and Technology and conducted her MS thesis on "ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY ANALYSIS OF PINEAPPLE PRODUCTION AT MADHUPUR UPAZILA OF TANGAIL DISTRICT IN BANGLADESH" under the supervision of Professor Shankar Majumder. Ms. Akter joined as a Lecturer and started her teaching and research career in the Department of Agricultural Statistics at Sylhet Agricultural University, Sylhet on 20th December 2018. During this period, she published six research articles in different renowned international journals. In addition, she got the opportunity to work as a principal Investigator (PI) in a Research and Development (R & D) project under the Ministry of Science and Technology. Recently, She has completed another project as a principal investigator (PI) which was funded by UGC-SAURES. She has been promoted to the Assistant Professor on 16th January 2021 in the same department. She is interested to conduct extensive research work on the issues related to environmental & resource economics, climate change impacts on agriculture, food security, gender & nutrition and production efficiency. She has good research knowledge and experience on qualitative and quantitative research methods. Ms. Akter is also interested in collaborative as well as multi-disciplinary research work.
