Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU) has signed a MoU with Kobe
University of Japan, one of the best institutes of international agriculture
and science education. According to the Public Relations and Publication Office
of the University, the "Agreement of Academic Cooperation" signing
ceremony was held at the Vice Chancellor’s conference room at 12 noon in 7
February. This agreement was executed with the Faculty of Post Graduate Studies
of SAU and the Graduate School of Agricultural Science and Faculty of
Agriculture of Kobe University. Under this agreement, Now there is a scope of academic
and research staff and student exchange opportunities of the two universities.
Besides, the two institutes will conduct joint research, academic lectures, symposium,
and exchange of research information. Sylhet Agricultural University
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Jamal Uddin Bhuiyan was present as the chief
guest at the signing ceremony. Besides, Professor Leo Fujimoto, PhD of Kobe
University and Professor Keiichi Okazaki, PhD of Niigata University joined
online from Japan. This agreement was executed under the initiative and
supervision of Professor Dr. Mozammel Haque of the department of Agronomy and
Haor Agriculture and Professor Leo Fujimoto of Japan.
Meanwhile, Sylhet Agricultural University signed another agreement
with Norway's Oslo International Rotary Club. This MoU was under the
supervision of the Director of External Affairs Dr. Tilak Chandra Nath.
Registrar Md. Badrul Islam and Dean of Post Graduate Studies Faculty Professor
Dr. Kazi Mehetazul Islam signed both agreements on behalf of the university. Through
this agreement, meritorious students studying in Sylhet Agricultural University
will get scholarship benefits at B.Sc and Masters Level in the campus.
