Dr. Md. Mosharaf Hossain Sarker was born on 01 January 1972 in a Muslim family of Bahadurpur village under Ashugonj upazila of Brahmanbaria district. His father’s name is Md. Shahidul Hoque Sarker and mother’s name is Mrs. Johera Begum. His primary education started from Bahadurpur Govt. Primary School in 1976 and ended in Durgapur Govt. Primary School in 1981. He passed SSC from Ashugonj Tap Bidyut Kendra High School in 1987 and HSC from Brahmanbaria Govt. College in 1989. He obtained B Sc Ag degree in 1994 (Exam. held in 1998) and MS degree in Dcember/2000 from Bangladesh Agricultural University. He was awarded PhD degree in Soil Science from Bangladesh Agricultural University in 2017. He started his working career as Scientific Officer in Regional Laboratory of Soil Resource Development Institute, Cumilla in 21 November 2000 and served there upto 21 October 2013. He has started his teaching profession in Sylhet Agricultural University as Assistant Professor in the Department of Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture in 22 October, 2013. He is now performing Post-doctoral research work in the Department of Soil Science, Sylhet Agricultural University under the supervision of Professor Dr. Md. Abul Kashem. He published more than 20 scientific articles in different peer reviewed journals from home and abroad. He is married with Ferdousi Sultana and blessed with two daughters and two sons.
