Biography

Dr. Md. Rashedunnabi Akanda, Professor of Veterinary Pharmacology at Sylhet Agricultural University, Bangladesh, has an impressive academic and research background. With a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and a Master’s in Pharmacology from Sylhet Agricultural University, he furthered his education with a PhD from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Chonbuk National University in South Korea. His career has included postdoctoral fellow at Chonnam National University College of Medicine and Hwasun Hospital, South Korea, and at Indiana University School of Medicine, USA. These experiences have not only broadened his scientific perspective but have also allowed him to collaborate with leading experts in the field. His research interests are primarily focused on plant medicine, inflammation, and cancer biology (metastasis), areas that are increasingly relevant in contemporary veterinary and medical research. Dr. Akanda has made substantial contributions to these fields, evidenced by his impressive publication record of over 52 peer-reviewed research and review articles in esteemed scientific journals. His work has garnered support from prominent funding organizations, including the National Research Foundation (NRF) of South Korea, the Medical Research Center (MRC) of South Korea, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the USA, and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) in Bangladesh. This financial backing underscores the significance and impact of his research endeavors. In addition to his research activities, Dr. Akanda is deeply committed to the education and mentorship of veterinary students. He actively engages with the academic community, providing guidance and support to the next generation of veterinarians. Furthermore, he plays a vital role in the scientific community by serving as a reviewer for various scientific journals, ensuring the integrity and quality of published research.
