  • Name of assignment or project: Innovation of flash flood coping rice technology through participatory approach Year:2017 Location: Gowainghat of Sylhet, Tahirpur and Biswamvorpur of Sunamganj District, Bangladesh Client: Flash flood affected haor farmers of north east Bangladesh Main project features:  Participation of local farmers in planning, implementation and evaluation process to identify flash flood coping rice technology  Training of the farmers to enhance their skill in the relevant field  Develop confidence of the farmers to adopt the selected technology to cope flash flood Detailed Tasks Assigned on Consultant’s Team of Experts: i) Cooperate and closely liaise with all the stakeholders including the project director of NATP-2 (National Agricultural Technology Project) and Design & Supervision (D&S) in operating and managing the whole assignment; ii) Undertake an updated training needs assessment of the farmers; iii) Ensure that poverty, social development and gender as well as environmental issues are integrated in formal training programs and courses where appropriate; iv) In liaison with Upazila Agriculture Office arrange, manage and coordinate all training courses, including selection of participants and venues; v) Prepare an annual training plan and budget for training and integrate into the overall Project annual plan; vi) Prepare inception report, monthly progress reports describing gender segregated number of participant, performance and future plans, and identifying any actions to be taken to ensure achievement of the outputs and objectives of the assignment and other training or capacity building related report, draft final report and final report at the end of assignment; vii) Assist in any other duties as may reasonably be assigned by the project director during the tenure of the assignment.
