TheFaculty of Veterinary, Animal and Biomedical Sciences (FVABS)Established in 2006 asthe founding faculty of Sylhet Agricultural University, the Faculty ofVeterinary, Animal and Biomedical Sciences (FVABS) stands as a premierinstitution for veterinary education in Bangladesh.

Our flagship program isthe five-year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), which includes acomprehensive one-year internship. This program was designed from its inceptionto meet evolving local, regional and global demands in animal health andproduction. FVABS is distinguished by its clear organizational structure anddynamic curriculum, making it one of the most comprehensive veterinaryeducational centers in the country. Our graduates are proficient professionals,equipped to undertake diverse roles and collaboratively contribute to qualityteaching, research, and extension services for the advancement of animal healthand production. Our alumni and researchers are dedicated to safeguarding humanand animal health, promoting biosecurity and animal welfare, and ensuring thesafety and productivity of livestock, poultry, wildlife, and companion animals.

The faculty is comprisedof 14 academic departments, supported by 69 highlyqualified teaching staff, most of whom hold Ph. D. degrees. Ourwell-equipped laboratories facilitate cutting-edge learning and research atboth the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
