Biography

I joined the Department of Food Engineering & Technology at Sylhet Agricultural University as a faculty member in 2017. Prior to that, I worked as a Senior Quality Assurance Executive at Dan Cake Bangladesh, which is a joint venture between Dan Cake A/S, Denmark, and Pandughar Ltd., Bangladesh. I am currently pursuing my PhD with a research focus on nanotechnology, active food packaging systems, and the integration of artificial intelligence in food safety and processing. My extensive publication record includes high-impact journals from ACS, Elsevier, Springer Nature, Wiley, and Taylor & Francis. My work, widely cited in the field, covers AI-driven approaches, Food Safety practices, and Nutritional Health interventions. My work has gained recognition for its practical applications in addressing critical issues in Food Technology and Public Health, particularly in developing economies. My recent projects have pioneered AI-enabled quality-testing systems, notably for Sundarban honey, employing advanced image-processing techniques to ensure authenticity. My work optimizing the shelf life of local food products, such as jaggery, and integrating packaging innovations and computer vision has prepared me to tackle challenges in developing sustainable solutions for the Food Industry. Beyond the research, I collaborated on projects focused on the welfare of Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, including one with the University of Edinburgh. As a Co-investigator, I had explored the role of geographic indications in promoting Bangladeshi traditional foods, contributing valuable insights into regional food branding and economic development. I am serving as an Academic Editor in the 'International Journal of Food Science' (Wiley). Besides, I am among the editorial board members of two journals named ‘Multidisciplinary Science Journal’ and ‘Trends in Agricultural Sciences’. I am also an active reviewer for more than 30 journals published by renowned publishers, and have reviewed more than 100 scientific articles. I love spending time with family and friends. I cook occasionally and am good at cooking traditional Bangladeshi dishes.
